Is Hood Warfare 2 on PS5 or PS4? Release Status & Console Guide
Everything PlayStation players need to know about Hood Warfare 2 console availability, Sony certification timelines, controller setup, and browser workarounds.
As of October 18, 2026, Hood Warfare 2 is strictly a Windows PC exclusive available on Steam for $5.99. Developer Trapstar Games has not announced any official PlayStation Store release date. Any YouTube videos or websites claiming to offer a “Hood Warfare 2 PS5 Beta Code” or “PS4 PKG Download” are unauthorized scams.
■ Why Isn't Hood Warfare 2 on PlayStation Yet?
Trapstar Games is a micro indie studio. Porting an Unreal Engine 5 title to PlayStation requires dedicated dev kits ($2,500+ each) and months of low-level optimization.
PlayStation requires compliance with rigorous Technical Requirements (TRC), including crash recovery, parental controls, and PSN trophies, which takes 3-6 months.
The team is currently focused on rolling out weekly hotfixes (like Patch 1.0.1.8 with the Draco & ARP) before committing to a static console release branch.
■ How to Play PC Version with a PS5 DualSense Controller
If you own a PC and prefer the feel of the PlayStation 5 controller, Hood Warfare 2 fully supports the DualSense gamepad via Steam Input:
- Connect your PS5 Controller: Plug in via USB-C cable (recommended for zero latency) or hold the Create + PS button to pair via Bluetooth.
- Enable Steam Controller Support: Open Steam ➡️ Settings ➡️ Controller ➡️ Toggle ON “Enable Steam Input for PlayStation Controllers”.
- Launch Hood Warfare 2: Steam will automatically map thumbstick aiming, sprint on L3, slide on Circle, and trigger pulls on R2.
- Aim Assist Tip: In Hood Warfare 2 settings, switch Controller Sensitivity to 5-5 and set Aim Response Curve to “Dynamic” for better Glock switch recoil control.
